The 710 2.0 is designed for ergonomic comfort and reliable grip. Its three-dimensional growth in circumference, grip length, and wing size allows for precise adjustment to different hand sizes – for an individual fit. The SQlab 710 2.0 grip offers the perfect balance of comfort, ergonomics, and control – an all-rounder for every ride.
For long lasting comfort
The wing grip features an enlarged contact surface that specifically alleviates pressure on the ulnar nerve and carpal tunnel. This design reduces strain on sensitive areas of the hand, ensuring long-lasting comfort.
The compact wing design maintains grip security even on challenging descents, without obstructing movement—making it perfect for long rides, daily commutes, and mountain biking.
The diagonally arranged lamella structure provides additional damping in the thumb area, absorbs vibrations, and prevents one-sided buckling. The textured underside of the grip, featuring a special block pattern, offers a secure grip—even in wet conditions or on rough terrain. Whether you're commuting in the rain or tackling challenging trail descents, this grip ensures control and comfort at all times.
In our laboratory, we conduct detailed pressure measurements to evaluate the ergonomic performance of our grips.
By analyzing pressure distribution and force application during use, we can identify optimal contact points and potential pressure points,
giving us a better understanding of how pressure is distributed across a rider´s hand.
These precise measurements allow us to refine our designs continuously, providing products that meet the highest standards of ergonomics and user satisfaction.
In our pressure comparison test between the SQlab 710 grip and a traditional MTB grip without a wing, the results revealed notable differences.
Traditional pressure peaks
The traditional round grips exert extremely high pressure on the outside of the hand. The small contact area due to the circular shape, combined with a thin layer of rubber, results in severe pressure peaks. This can cause pressure pain leading to irritation of the ulnar nerve. Prolinged irritation of the ulnar nerve then leads to numbness in the little finger and ring finger.
710 SQlab grip - reduces pressure
In contrast, 710 SQlab grips feature a flat contact surface and an extra-soft material with exceptional dampening capabilities, which significantly reduces pressure levels—reaching a completely new level of comfort for MTB grips.
